something about us

for years i have been taking pictures of graffiti and yet i spent ages looking for designs for badges when i first got the machine. now it seems so obvious!

the designs in the funky badges shop are pieces encountered on my travels, sometimes a whole piece, sometimes a detail, and some lend themselves to pairing off or grouping into four. many of them come from barcelona, a vibrant city if ever there was. go there if you can. the narrow streets of the ciutat vella and areas around the museum of contemporary art are a public gallery of world class graffiti, some respected, some oversprayed over the years to make new, layered artworks. fab!

there are other designs from bristol, uk, where i live and where there is a similar quality of urban artists, making their comments and brightening our lives...

then there are some from ibiza, colourful, out there...

wherever i find it, i love it!

of course there's more to my badges than graffiti - we have our own designs, including mushrooms, skull and crossbone stylee, cultural motifs, fluoro badges and funky badge sets made from origami papers...

since its inception in the summer of 2005, funky badges is developing what it sees as an artform in itself - the one inch badge!
i hope to continue producing great designs and invite others to join in
